FAST Intake rope seal help

When putting the rope seal on the fast intake, is the seal supposed to zig zag between the runners as its going around the intake or does one piece go around the intake then cutting the other pieces to fit the runners..?

one piece around the outside, fast put the joint at the rear bolt bu the map.

pieces across, along the runner to the outside, black rtv at all joints.
