Question Ported MAF ends

Are they good or bad for automatic cars,I just put thunder racings ported maf ends on my car and noticed a little difference in the way it shifts???I have heard alot of mixed thoughts about it messing up the airflow and sending wrong signals to the tranny(telling it its under a load)????I really need a straight awnser cuz im on my third transmission already.lol,Thanks

Some people have good results with them, however most people have negative experiences with ported ends, even though i'm an M6 on mine they made me run lean. I think on the autos they have problems with them affecting line pressure on the trannys.

simple, maf reads airflow, and is used to determine load.

anytime you modify this sensor, you throw off all kinds of tables.

on a A4 line pressure is determined by load, as one of the factors the computer uses.

therefore, i would not use a modified maf, unless you need to register more than the 500+ hp that the stock one is good for.

Thanks guys,I really dont need to break the trans again,So descreening the stock MAF end would'nt be a good idea either?Or is there any way to put the screen in the ported ends, because doesnt it slow the air down so it can register the airflow.Would a MAF tanslator or a hypertech allow me to adjust the MAF to fix the "flow problems"???

i had my MAF ported but that was also before i dropped my tranny and it messed with the shifts and it seemed to take a while for it to shift into gear, and i lost 8rwhp with it on because my A/F was so lean.
