Water Pump Gaskets . . .
took off my water pump and found the gaskets are the metal one's and the rubber inside is falling off, so before i even say the mileage on the pump i have brand new gaskets in my room i'm thinking of throwin on the new gaskets and puttin the pump back on or should i just get a new pump? the pump still works and does it's job, only thing wrong is the gaskets.
assuming i actually get responses on this thread, at that point i'll tell what the mileage on the pump is but i'd like to here some people's thoughts on this first

my buddy has a 03 avalanche with a 5.3 in it and it has almost 300k miles on it and the waterpump is not leaking or anything. i assure you, your water pump is fine.

i dont see the problem. 90k on a water pump is nothing major. there are plenty of LS1's out there with 100k more miles than yours and the water pumps are still in good shape.

11ft lbs, upon closer look at the bolts i'm thinking this was bound to happen beings they look rusted and shitty. i'm willing to bet these were the original bolts for when the car was manufactured in 1999, the water pump was replaced almost 4 years ago by a dealership and doubt they put in new bolts.
