Painted my Ford 9" (pics)
I put on 2 coats of POR-15. I dont want to see an ounce of rust! I think it came out nice...
Rear has LCA brackets, sway bar brackets, fill & drain holes, 3.25 gears, 3 ch. ABS,...
A few things you should know about POR-15:
1- Wear gloves! If you get it on your skin, its not comming off for a week.
2- Buy a bunch of throw-awway brushes.
3- When you close the lid, if there is any paint on the sealing edge of the can, you will NOT be opening the can again.
Dry to touch in a few hours, & it will feel like rubber. The next day, the finish will be as hard as a rock, kinda like powder coat.
Thanks Bob from EPP!

POR15.
LMAO.
Years ago I painted the leaf springs on my Jeep Wrangler and paid no mind to getting it on my hands. I was covered with that ****. Then I saw the sticker on the lid that clearly states "do not get this on your hands. The only thing that will get it off is time".
How true it was. No chemicals outside of battery acid or a torch will get this **** off your hands. I ended up sanding and scraping what I could to the extent of almost bleeding to death. Soaking in the tub, bubble bath, gasoline, everything I could think of. Took a week for it to finally disappear. How true the sticker was.
I used latex gloves after that.

The metal was totally rusted exept where the paint was. I hit it with a hammer & bent the metal & it didnt chip off or peel.
I also put 1 coat on rusted black steel wheels. It was on my moms car. The rust was inbetween the hub cap spokes. That was about a year ago, & the rust didnt come back.
If what your painting is gonna be exposed to sunlight, you need to put a top coat of some other paint.
