Default cleaning headlights

The headlights on my '01 SS are cloudy, and it annoys the **** outa me.

I cleaned out the outside of them real good. Wet sanded with 600 grit or somewhere around there, used a rubbing compound, and finished it off with a plastic polish. So the oustide of my headlights are nice and smooth and clear.

The problem is the inside. Is there any way to pop off the lens non destructively? I pulled the headlight assembly out, took off the 4 metal clips around the lens, and then I could not figure out how to get the lens off. I tried prying a little bit and just started to put stress marks on the plastic.

I just really don't want to spend the money on new headlights, though will resign to do it if this is not possible...

Throw the headlight assembly in the oven on 350* for about 10 minutes or so and have a knife or a couple flat head screw drivers ready to pry the lens off the housing. When you get ready to put them back together, just use some clear RTV.

Sweet...

I'll have to give that a shot this weekend.

Thanks for the tip!
