same in what way?

sound?
performance?
both?

as far as i'm concerned the only thing that puts a single exhaust ahead of a dual is for clearance.

TDs are better sounding and support more power. and on some cars, look better

well since the middle of the xpipe is technicaly a single pipe, could it still be considered a single exhaust?

No a true dual exhaust is a true dual period. even a true dual with a H pipe is still TRUE DUALS, and it only has one crossover pipe. Sorry if i answered your question wrong but im a little confused as to what you are saying

Apples and Oranges..... True duals with an Xpipe is as good as it gets period.... Hpipe deepens the sound but an Xpipe flows a lot better...
