Default Installing my clutch next week! *QUESTIONS*

What fluid should I use? Dot 3 or 4? I'm also installing the tick performance master. Should I drain out all my tranny fluid and put in new fluid?

How many miles on the car? If you haven't changed the tranny fluid and you've got 15,000+ miles on it, I'd do it. Also, go get a bottle of Valvoline DOT 3 & 4 brake fluid for the clutch hydraulics. It's literally "DOT 3 & 4".

Have fun with that Tick master.

Do they sell this Valvoline Dot 3&4 at the store? How many bottles will I need? This is the only fluid I'll need?

Yup, Advance Auto or any place that sells brake fluid. One bottle should be plenty unless you have issues getting the air out. Always good to have an extra one kickin around, though.

No one bottle will be plenty for the hydraulics unless you have trouble getting all the air out of the system after i which case you may need more.. I would buy two just in case and if you don't need it then you will have extra..

You will need atleast a few quarts of whatever you are using for the tranny if you are draining it.. what I did is drain it and then put it back in the car dry. Then pop the drain plug and pour it through the shifter area (you have to remove the shifter to drop the tranny). Pour it until it starts to leak out the plug.. this is nice so you don't have the weight of the fluid when your trying to get the tranny back in place...

It doesn't hurt to buy hydraulic fluid with a higher boiling point.

Do NOT put brake fluid in the transmission! That DOT 3/4 brake fluid is strictly for bleeding the clutch hydraulics (master cylinder / slave cylinder). For the transmission fluid, you can use whatever you prefer (Royal Purple Synchromax, Redline, Dex III, Penzoil Synchromesh, Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF, etc).

I'd drain the trans fluid before pulling the driveshaft, etc.

Max- I wouldn't touch the rearend fluid if you just did it.

thats the first thing you should do once ur under the car. also i didnt disconnect the hydrualic lines off the cylinder just unbloted it and took it off while lowering the tranny. So i didnt have to bleed the clutch. but if u dont have that drill mod do it.

It's probably going to make a mess if you don't drain it...
