The track picture below is with my 26" ET street with a blown out shock so I upgraded to the competion eng. ones in your link..

On the street I am running a 315/35/17 hoosier drag radial with the car lowered 1".

Its kind of a pain.. If I remember correctly, you have to compress it and turn a little washer type deal on it... I just set it on the stiffest and left it.

I started on the stiffest and tried it out... It worked and had no issues hooking so i left it.

no, your trying to control wheel movement

depends on the wheels you are using. i have my qa1s set at 3 and 5 because i have a low profile DR. since i do not have the side wall that a 28" tire has i need to soften the suspension to absorb some of the initial hit so it does not spin the tires.

I've read there is a Summit shock that is just a rebadged Comp Engineering shock, just cheaper. Anybody know the part number?

Awesome super budget shock. Have a few cars who have gone 1.35-1.40 60's with them. They are easy to adjust too all you to do is compress the shock and twist the body. There are 3 adjustments on them 90/10, 70/30, and 50/50. I mormally throw them in there on the 50/50 to start with and go from there.

Summits are not rebadged CE's, but they do work great and for 26bux you can't go wrong

I had those CE 3-position shocks in the white Camaro set at 50/50, 1.38's. I like QA1's since you have 12 settings since I've occasionally changed them from 6/6 to 7/7 for a better track but the CE's are okay.

I think a lot of people look past the stock shocks. Not that these aren't good, and having some adjustability is a plus, but if everyone says that for the money they are a good shock. I have gone 1.3's on the stock shocks and springs, and have seen several other members do the same. I think too many people just change out the shocks, when there are other suspension components that are more important IMO. Now if your trying to get a sub 10 second car to hook on a drag radial, then having an adjustable shock is a must.

So is 50/50 the harder set up? With a stock spring and a low profile drag radial would I want to use the softer setting?
