Well here it is.. my OTHER money pit. It started out as a 00' yamaha warrior 350 and has been heavily modified and hacked up to fit a 99' GSXR 750 fuel injected motor. i got this thing from a guy in california about 2 years ago. ive ridden it around in the condition it was in in the first few pics and it was one hell of a ride. it was ver very fast but not very safe. since then ive started to rebuild this thing and make it safe and reliable.
so far ive torn everything down and found a few problems. all of the details can be seen on my fquick page here: http://www.fquick.com/garages/viewvehicle.php?id=15618
Heres the specs:
- 1999 SUZUKI GSXR-749(750)cc FUEL INJECTED ENGINE,

Pretty cool. Just bought a 400ex last weekend, I'm enjoying getting back into the 4-wheeler stuff. Looks like you'll have a pretty nasty machine on your hands onces its all setup - nice!

looks really cool, what were you asking for it? How does it ride? I have seen some hill shooters out at glamis thathave street bike motors they just seem to be heavy.

Thanks, well when I was trying to sell it I was only asking $2000. It rides fine, and is insanely fast. It had a twist throttle on it so you could forget about trying to turn fast on trails. My goal is to make it a strong, light, fast, and reliable quad. I'm not gonna be hittin huge jumps or any crazy stuff I just wanna haul ass on the dunes and desert trails. It's pretty heavy right now but I'm starting from scratch and building a whole new frame. So it should be lighter and way stronger.

seems really cool my buddy had one with a 600 and he did not do the gearing right, but tapped out that thing never left 2nd gear unless you were a mad man. How does it handle over the whoops and bumps like that? I find it hard to believe it did not sell for 2k esp with the fuel injection.

Man that looks like fun. How hard was it to make the frame work?

I've got a couple I posted before. Right now we've got the motor in the frame and we're about to start measuring for motor mounts.
I've got a guy here in town with a CNC Plasma thats going to be cutting out our final design and gussets for the frame...
Looks like a stock 2005 Honda 400ex...ish

I just finally got my tubing bender so that'll help...
How does yours do with keeping the front tires on the ground?

So how fast would you think that thing is? Would it keep up with a stock trans am?

i have a friend in law enforcement so we decided to do some top speed runs on that dirt road in the first few pics. it wasnt geared right at the time (mostly all acceleration and not as much top end) but he clocked me at 104 in the middle of 4th gear... it hit that speed in i'd guess well under 300 yards. That 3rd pic with nothin but dirt in the air was the fly by haha. it was skatin around all over the place cause the wheels were spinning. with the twist throttle i wouldnt take it over any whoops, i wouldnt want to rock back and twist the throttle sending the quad out from under me. i dont think it sold because i wouldnt let anyone test ride it( didnt want someone killing themself)

im a faily good fabricator so it shouldnt be too hard

sounds like a cool project i'd like to see it. how did you do your motor mounts?
When i had the paddels on it would damn near flip over backards in first, pull them about 2-3 feet in second and about a foot in 3rd gear if you could stay in it that long. i really need some limiting straps. with the knobies it would just spin them so it never really hooked and pulled the wheels.
So how fast would you think that thing is? Would it keep up with a stock trans am?
when i rode it it seemed fast enough to dust off on my trans am lol

Put you some kind of street tire on it and take it to the strip. I saw a 700r Raptor run a 15.4@75 so I'd bet you that Banshee would get in the 13s if you can keep all 4 wheels on the ground.

Those super sport bike engine swaps are cool. I say a ZX12 engine in a kx850 (The fast sport ATV).
It was pretty insane, even I don't think it's a good idea to ride one. That's not to say I wouldn't, though.

kx850:confused:??
i guarantee youve got at least an 11 second quad on your hands. throw some paddles on it and take it to a sand drag. airshifter would help too. i bet it runs low 3's on the 300'. i had a polaris that ran low 4's that looked near stock.

My bad, KFX700. I always get messed up by Kawasaki's naming scheme.

i wasnt sure, ive been out of quads for a while now.. why kawi wouldnt put the 800 or 850 or whatever twin out of the big utility into an aluminum frame i do not know.

I think they did in 2007, but discontinued it. It was REALLY expensive, I've only ever seen one in person.

I wouldn't be suprised if it was in the 11's.
If only it had a 1000 instead of a 750 I'd build me a mini sand rail and say screw the quad. The sandrail would be safer but alotp more expensive. I've always wanted to build a single seat long travel motorcycle powered rail...

Got some new parts in yesterday. i got a new radiator with fan, all hoses, thermostat, and overflow tank. also picked up a yoshimura exhaust and speed sensor to get my tach and gauge cluster to work.

I had a single seat 750 sandrail the thing was a ton of fun. Let me see if i can dig up some pics i dont think i have any though. I ended up trading it for a banshee, i regret that sometimes.

no my buddy did and i refined it i guess. I dont have any pictures left but the think was cool as hell. It ended up being too short for me, i had it when i was younger and still growing. The deal came up to trade so i ended up doing that. It had pannels and a pretty good suspension setup on it. It was no drakart but it looked a lot like this one, http://www.drakart.com/tornado.html

i almost put a snowmobile engine in my polaris when i had it...
i go to Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in phoenix and a student rides around in a GSXR1000 powered golf cart.. has a rigged foot clutch and a hand shifter..
theres nothing like seeing a golf cart DESTROY a pair of knobbies down the street.

Man I just saw a video of two guys haulin ass down the street in one of those. Now that's dangerous as hell, you hit a big bump at 100 mph with golf cart suspension and they'll be scraping your ass off the sidewalk
