Can someone explain the differences in the number of axle splines? I understand that 33 is more than 34. I want to know which is stronger and why.

i believe you can get up to 35 but i have the 33 the bigger the number the stronger, i guess the more splines the greater pressure they will take before they will twist. 33 is more that enough for a 8 sec. car

Why would they offer different spline numbers if one isn't as strong as another? Is there a drawback to the stronger spline?

same reason they offer a variety in everything else, you pay more for the higher quality. also the more splines i was told the noisier the rear end will be. and if you dont want a 8 sec car than you would be fine with 30 or 31 spline axles. they are cheaper and quieter and dont come with a free replacement waranty if you break them but if you not going to have the power to break them and you want less noise go with them.
