Default Broke my Nine friday night

Went out to RSD on friday night And on my fourth pass Right off the line the shacking like crazy and not moving well i pulled both axle's and the 3rd member to see what broke today and found this, bent the splines on both axles and ripped all the splines on the spool LOL I guess The 31 spline axles and spool didnt like the good track prep and 7000rpm dump with my new 4.56 gears lol parts are getting order tonight

I thought those were 33 spline axles?OH well!!!! I would definitly get bigger axles and a steel spool. Its gonna come together for you Rob,Its more of the weight issue thats hard on the parts.Ring and Pinnion look OK? You forgot to post your new numbers before it broke. Im glad you made it home OK

31 splines are supposed to be able to handle 400 ft lbs coming out of 1st gear on an m6. What tire/gear you running.

Alot of this has to do more with actually moving the weight of the car and hitting the rear at 7000rpm clutch dump. That 400ft lbs may be rated on a 2500lb. car not a 3200lb. car

yeah spot on The car with me in it is 3475 and no dumping here just a fast slip. pulling more weight out of the car looking to see if it will help. This was on a 28x10.5x15 with a 4.56 gear

If running a spool I would just go 40 spline and be done with it..

I'd hang those axles on the wall.

I run 31 splines with a steel spool and brown bag special gears. Leaving at around 5500-6000 clutch dumps with a 3500lb car. That's on 28x10.50 slicks. Been as low as a 1.500 sixty foot. Axles are still holding up, moser's btw.

I shattered a 31 spline moser back when my car was SI... they just dont like getting hit with a 6000+ clutch dump and dead hooking.
