axle bearing change

Got a bad axle bearing so i'm going change them out. I under stand the procedure,but my question is do I pack them with grease or not? I'm thinking they are lubed by the rear end oil and therefore no grease.

Come on guys .Nobodys did this.Do i put grease on the bearings or not???

Yes they are lubed with gear oil. Squirt em down and tap them in.

yup, lubed through gear oil... Did an axle swap a few months back. I thought the same thing but my brother taught me that only older vehicles need to be packed with grease, newer vehicles are fine.

Put some gear lube on them before you install them so they don't run dry on initial warm up. When you fill the rear, let it sit for about 15 minutes so the axle tubes get some lube in them and then recheck the level.
