~$45k

The cts-v is about $20k more than a regular cts. The cheaper camaro's price won't increase by as much and I don't think GM would want it to be more expensive than the gt500.

I really don't think the new GM cares nuch about this web page and what it thinks. But I'll answer your question.

A 2009 Corvette has a base price of 47.045.00 witha cost of 42,105.00. Things will change but today you can buy a Corvette closer to invoice than invoice for the Camaro.

My opinion, the old GM had too many products priced in the same range. I don't see a Camaro SS. My opinion, our government might not want the Camaro................... in the next five years. Thats ok, that makes my wifes more valuable.

They dont want it to compete with the Corvette, so you are looking at $40k-$45k like the other guy said.

Z28 is confirmed for production, so we will just have to wait till 2011 for the actual release of the car. It will be a bargain buy no matter how you look at it.

If the rumors are true the C7 vette should be coming up right after the Z28. They will most likely up the hp and price so there will still be a want for the vette.

since GM doesn't want to undermine the corvette it will be priced very competitively with the GT500. expect a bump in HP in the base corvette all the way through the ZR1. my guess could be: 450hp base, 530+/- hp Z06, 650+hp /-ZR1

If it's a dime over 40k for a base version, then it's a ripoff. Think about it. A base SS is what 32k. All they are adding is a blower, a couple body panel/things to make it look different and maybe some different wheels and shocks? Of course fully loaded it will be more, but a base version should be around that price.

I somewhat agree. Look what they did with the 4th gen "SS" and "Firehawk'. All you got was some wheels, a hood and an exhaust and look how much they charged for that.

So what about the aftermarket company's that are basically already supplying you with a supercharger, chassis, hood, body panel upgraded Camaro (Z28)? They are hitting people for way over the $8000-$10,000 upgrade you are dreaming about. More like $16,000-$20,000 upgrade.

im guessing base price will be about 10k more than an SS which puts it about at low 40s which isnt bad and still less than a GT500.

If it's not reasonably priced, I'll just get one and put a turbo or blower on myself. I just think it would be great to have a factory FI car to start with. In my experience, it makes the conversion easier and more reliable.

1st, remember that it will be a 2012 model, so think what the prices will be in 2yrs... if an average SS is $37k this yr, it will be $40k in 2yrs, so the Z28 will be AT LEAST $10k more... i say it will base at $49,900, with an average retail of $54,000... and to who ever said they were "just adding a blower"... its a completely built motor made to handle the boost and extra power... not quite LS9 stuff, but close: http://www.autoblog.com/2008/01/14/d...-2l-superchar/

The difference in cost between a stock crank, rods, pistons and forged versions of the same is very small, especially with the economy of scale that GM has. So a 'built' motor price wouldn't be that much different than a normal LS3. In fact the LSA doesn't even have forged pistons from what I understand. So, when I said that all they are adding is a blower (motor-wise anyway) that is pretty much true when you look at it from a cost standpoint. The problem is all the suckers that would fork 45 - 50k for something like this allow the company to rake us over the coals.

Plus, if you look, people aren't rushing out to buy the GT500 even though it is the only thing on the market. With some competition, we will all be the winners here if you ask me.

I would bet anything that the z28 will have bigger brakes, better supsension, etc. It will be a complete package not just an SS with the ls3 swapped for an lsa. Considering how much the lsa costs over the ls3, a $15k price increase will be justifiable (and make it cost about the same as the gt500).

I can't imagine them making a base version of the Z28 just for the drag racers. It will be priced right around the GT500, I don't think the corvette price has as much to do with it as people seem to think. By the time it comes out in 2 years it will probably be at least $50k.
