what speed sensor do i need? I have a bad transmission which i plan on replacing soon. i also do not have a working speedometer. i notice that many places list a speed sensor, and a transmission speed sensor. which do i need to buy? from the illustrations, they look like different parts. will a bad transmission speed sensor cause the computer to throw codes and not go in certain gears?

Are the places you're looking refering to a trans speed sensor and a wheel speed sensor? If your cluster doesn't work, I would be looking at the trans speed sensor and/or the wiring to it.
