Default Pics of my cracked tailshaft casing - Also anyone know where I can get a new one?

Well last Friday I cracked my tailshaft housing and pulled the trans the other night to reveal the damage, and here it is. Also here is my original thread:

This was my first Tick purchase and I am happy so far, the price was pretty damn good. I hear they send the parts out fast so thats another plus.

Now to find a used driveshaft for sale!

man, you better check your tranny. THAT much damage (good grief!!) you could have damaged a mainshaft/bearing/cluster, etc...

source already mentioned to check your driveshaft balance.

Also, get your tq. arm off the trans. and onto an aftermarket crossmember.

Make sure you check all your gear teeth for chips in them. I have two steel lt1 drive shafts idk if you would be interested in them.

+1 Its also looks like your using a polyurethane trans mount. It might be safer to switch back to rubber. I'll break a 20 dollar rubber trans mount from time to time, but i'd rather have that be the weaker link vs the tail shaft of the transmission.

That's what I call an "exploded view" of the transmission.

What were you doing when it broke? I think I missed that.

Good luck getting it back together.

Wow that's not exactly a "crack",,,,, that thing just plain busted in two. I was expecting to see some hairline cracks in the case, not the grand canyon lol....

Sorry about your luck man, but it sounds like you're getting it taken care of.

To be honest a friend of mine bought a 93 Z28 and was a supposed 12.60 car. My cars best pass so far is a 12.56 so it seemed like a pretty good race. We went from a dig from a stoplight on the highway at around midnight, as soon as I hit 4th gear prob. going almost 120 (I trap 116 in the 1/4 and just make it into 4th) is when it all happened.

Odd that it happened at speed. Definitely check drive shaft balance/u-joint index etc.

Also I agree with above. Get a cross member mounted tqa mount
