Yup. Lots of info over at thirdgen.org on the T56 swap on our cars.

What type of T-56 do you have now?

85miketpi----------- where are in newark do you live? i hang out alot around there well used to. you ever go to the good ol mcdonalds? or shopping center? i have a LT1 t-56 right now.

Mike--- I know its not that hard i was hoping to find someone who has done it so i can find out what exactly what i need to swap over. i know ill obviously need the basics, clutch, pedals ***. crossmember, but idk about the wiring. i know you can run the T-56 without the wiring harness but yea. just really trying to find someone that has done it before......... i found a 350 for 100 bucks bare block which is awesome ima get it to dennis long to do me a Long Block then get it back to the house. and have pops get it ready for when i come home for a few weeks and do that swap hopefully ill be able to get a little truck while im home and a trailor and then i can trailor the car back to MI and have some fun lol or leave it at the house

The only wiring you'll have to truely worry about is the reverse lockout. The skip shift is an energized circuit. Without it plugged up it will never lock out the gears. Not 100% sure about the reverse lock though. Search on 3rd Gen, I bet that you'll get alot of hits.

well im not really worried about the rev lockout cause im not really that dumb normally go 2-4-6 anyways so i normally dont use 1,3,5 unless im racing and yea racing my 3rd gen would be embarrasing right now hahaha

I know but i had my reverse lockout start messing up on me and could feel it hitting reverse on one of my old trannys somehow going into fifth on a hard shift. Your talking about putting in a stonger motor, so you will eventual making a hard shift into 5th.

The t5 swap will be really cheap to do on the that thing. If you sold the t56, that would more than likely completely cover the t5 swap.
