Default CalSpeed LS1 Mustang going for stock LS1 record, 10.0 at Famoso today on easy pass...

Well not that records mean much but it's something fun to go for...

Since our good motor had some machine work/shop issues, we stuffed in a stock 88k mile 98' LS1 motor in our foxbody coupe two weeks ago for the Pinks All Out race...

(Excuses for last time out: no tuning other than threw one in the pcm and headed to track, leaving on the footbrake, stock MAF/little filter hanging off front, 4100 DA (104 deg outside , 131 deg track temp), geared for faster setup - 3.73 gear/28" tire, Stock 98' 88k mile shortblock, victor jr intake /w elbow (meant for the F2 we are going to be running with the LSx motor shortly), stock 5.3l casting heads, 91 straight pump gas, etc etc etc etc....)

So we hadnt touched it since the pinks race, threw it on the dyno yesterday and found a bunch more power (tune was way lean come to find out), put decent intake pipe /w 85mm MAF on it) and some other stuff, etc...

Still have straight 91 octane in it..

Results: 10.0 @ 135 leaving off idle and standing on it 5 feet out, getting out of it twice on the top end to keep it from crossing the centerline...pulling right pretty good, going to add some preload in the anti-roll bar and add a bit of air pressure in the tires to keep it more stable.

Pic of best hooking pass 1.53 60ft

Video: (you can see just rolled out and stood on it)

Rossler T-brake TH350...have had no luck with good 60' fts on the brake so far.
Car is about 2480 (plus or minus) plus me in it (about 2720 race weight with the little things - me/laptop/helmet/little things). Theres still alot of weight left (100+ lbs) I can get out of it, but its pretty light with the alum block motor in it....

Small world isnt it!

It was nice to meet you out there. sorry I didnt get to talk/BS about the car more, I was rushed worried that I wouldnt get any test passes in because it was 90 minutes before they were supposed to close the test'n'tune but I managed 5 passes in 2 hours...no complaints here. I hot lapped it every time trying to get in alot of test passes.

You mentioned you were building a LS based fox as well? One hard thing, is it would be very hard to race it in any class with a weight requirement. You'd have to strap 800lbs to it to run most any competitive heads up class.

Actually, WCHRA, I can weigh 2800lbs in Limited 10.5, naturally aspirated with the jerico.

here is the build for it....
