Default Air in M/C

So i'm having a bit of a problem with my camaro. seems the hydraulics system is failing on me. i can bleed the system of air from the master using a "mityvac", and it totally works. well, for about a week and then there is more air in the system. i can only assume bad master or slave. its causing disengagement issues and it just started out of nowhere. looking for any input or suggestions. maybe i'm wrong and it's not the hydraulics, but i noticed if when it's acting up and i pump the clutch in between gears it goes in smooth as butter. if i don't pump it when its acting up, then it's hard to get into gear.

pull back your master cylinder interior dust boot to view for leaks. Check it at the firewall side for leaks including at the connection. Attempt to see if there are leaks at the slave inside the bell and at the connection & bleeder.

Barely cracking the bleeder and routing a hose from that up to the reservoir followed by pumping the pedal for a few minutes is my method of getting ALL air out, but everyone wants to keep using a mityvac.

I would not go as far as doing that. Pull your transmission back and install a remote bleeder, makes the job so much easier and less messy. We have those in stock if you would like to order one.

went under the car loosened the bleeder and bled the system that way. car still doesn't go into gear at all. it's a new master cylinder. maybe re-bench bleed? bad slave?

I've always bled the slave on Fbodies without removing anything...its a tight fit to get your hads and a socket in/on the fitting but it's doable...now on the vette...a little different story...remove x/h pipe tunnel plate and then the same ordeal as the fbody...a biatch to get to but doable...I would always do a remote bleeder on the vettes but I wouldnt waste my money on the fbody when i can throw it on ramps and get to it fairly quick

Rockin the ol hole in the floor myself. Little carpet peeling and two strips of duct tape are all I gotta do to get my 7/16 deepwell on the bleeder.

if you're going to replace the slave, do the drill mod too.

Update, I replaced the slave and all is good. I had done the drill mod previously. I got the slave with bearing at O'Reilly in stock for just over $80. Pulling and reinstalling the tranny was not as bad as I thought it would be, I did it in one night solo. I am glad I picked up a transmission jack, I don't think bench pressing it in would have worked for me.

entire problem fixed. ended up being loose pressure plate bolts. it took 5 trans pulls to figure this one out.
