Hello
hello my name is mark I'm from the Carolina
a little background about myself I am an Asian guy used to be a Honda guy. first cars was a 91 civic and then 91 prelude and my last one was a 97 prelude. I recently sold that and now i have some cash.I'm looking into purchasing my first American V8
and I am thinking about getting a Camaro . i have narrowed down my choices to 2 options
1: a 96 z28 with a lt1 6 sp with about 122,xxx miles
or a 2000 coupe rs with an ls1,automatic,88,xxx miles
there is about a 2 grand difference "ls1 costing more"
which would you pick

love the sound of the LT1, but after owning a 97 z28 and now an 01 SS, i'd pick the LS1.
the power difference is pretty apparent. i still love the angular look of the 93-97's a bit more than the 98-02's, but the power wins. plus with 40k less miles that's at least a little less wear on it.
but best bet is to drive both and go with the one you think will make you happier.
oh yeah.. and welcome to the boards!

yea that why i was so hesitant on the ls1. I was reading somewhere that they were quicker than there m6 brother but nothing says control like a manual. i think ls1 m6 are kinda out of my price range so i think the lt1 will do.
i have one more question i know the ls1 were underrated how about the lt1?

I would rather have a auto Ls1 anyday over a m6 Lt1. The power difference in the Ls1 vs Lt1 is so much more. auto Ls1>m6 Lt1 especially if it has 40,000 less miles come on! You'd be making a mistake if u go with the Lt1. i know m6 is better than auto but u can still have a lot of fun in auto especially when theres an ls1 behind it.
