drone with my magnaflow?
i have had my magnaflow catback on my 02 z since april now, and the last 2 months i had noticed a little drone around 1500 rpm when it is held there. but when i hit 2000 rpm it sounds amazing but not loud. and i heard a banging from my cat back, and adjusted the over axle pipes so they wouldnt hit any more but noticed they had been banging and there a pretty decent sized dent in the other axle pipe that connects to the muffler , could this becausing the drone or can it be just the stock y merge? ill take a pic of the dent in the pipe when i get done work today.
also i was wondering how much louder will my car be with longtubes and catted y with a good merge (ARH). not really concerned about driving level of sound. more of start up and idle because i leave my gf's house pretty late some times and dont want to **** of her parents and wake them up.

I'd say the drone is more from the y-pipe merge than the magnaflow itself. They seem to do pretty well on cleanness of sound.
With longtubes/ypipe it'll be noticably louder but it's not to bad because the magnaflow helps mellow it down. I was running that setup plus cam/intake before I sold the car and even then it wasn't to bad.

That's no kidding. I bought mine with a loudmouth, stock manifold and no cats and it sounds like complete crap. I'm waiting for winter to roll around to install my ARH, catted y and magnaflow CB.

More than likely its because of your Y pipe... Its because of the way the exhaust pulses through the Y... If you had true duals you wouldnt have that problem.....

If any of your exhaust pipes were resting on the body or axle that can cause a noise to resonate thru the car and sound like a drone. Fix the issues with the exhaust and then recheck for the droning noise.

u know ur response makes the most sense ill have to dome adjustments this weekend, also it sounds like there is a small exhaust leek coming from the over axle pipe , could this be another cause?
