Default Gm Hot cam or ASA cam ?

Out of these TWO cams which would be better as a dd and would make better power. Doing tight budget build so going with one of these since I have a new set of ls6 springs.

Thanks Raul

I'm in the same boat. I had convinced myself that the ASA cam would meet my needs, but now I'm not so sure.

So in answer to your question, I would pick the ASA over the Hot Cam.

I've had good luck with my ASA cam. Driveability is good, and it has a broad tq curve. Just added a set of GMPP LS6 heads and put down 445rwhp & 408rwtq. Before the heads it did 393rwhp & 383 rwtq.

ASA seems to be a great cam. To be honest it still puts up good numbers no matter what the Naysayers will say.

the asa cam works best if you pull the mufflers, if you have a street car with full exhaust and mufflers then the Z06 is is a better choice

Ive had both cams and the ASA performed really well also sounded badass. Pulls hard from 2500 rpms.

Im running an ASA cam in my LQ4 DD. Sounds bad ***, has good street manners and pulls like a motha when you stand on it.

Ive only had the motor in my car for a couple weeks, but I can tell you its a bitch to tune. I got it dyno tuned last Tuesday and Im going back to the tuner Monday.
Runs great, just having some idling issues.

Sounds like it's your tuner, not the cam.

Keep in mind guys that in the link above they didn't change the exhaust on the back to back cam runs there by choking the ASA.

I have a comp 220-224..

the lift is low enough that you should be able to run Ls6 springs.

i made 360whp on the stock exhaust ...

just another 4 you to look into

The car had a faulty TPS when he tuned it last week, When I changed it the idle got screwed up. Thats why he going to tweak it tomorrow.

I have said in the past...

I had the ASA cam, and the only thing that was cool about it was the sound. The performance was less than impressive and not worth it for what I lost in driveability.

Granted I was running a 3" y to gmmg, maybe I would have had better luck with true duals. Either way, I wouldn't recommend it

I am in the same boat as you are my friend but personally I just ordered the hot cam and lifter kit for the price and from what I have read it puts down some decent numbers as well.
