It's Converter Time!!!!
So It's finally time to get a converter.
Guys with experience, especially LT1 guys, and guys with 4.10's, what's the best stall speed for a DD, mostly street car?
Edit: I may say DD, but eventually I want this car to be a nasty snarlin' rubber destroyer that's a blast to drive, and won't be a complete embarassment at the track every once in a while.

IMO, 4.10 is alot of gear for a DD with an auto. The desired stall you want will vary depending on what u want to do, and your combination. Based on the mods in your sig, I would probably go with 3400. However, it may be faster with a bigger converter, although that may not be very street friendly. really depends on what you feel is street friendly

I think bc of the 410 gear you can run a 4K and it will be very streetable. My converter tightened up significantly going from a 323 to a 373 gear.

i have a 4000 stall now and even with 2.73's if i did it again i'd go bigger. but, thats for my LS1. From what i have heard, the LT1's generally match well with a smaller stall than would be wanted for an ls1 with similiar mods. hope that helps

I have a vig. 3200 and with the 2.73's I though it felt too loose but with the 3.42's I love it.
With your 4.10's you could probably go higher and still feel fairly tight.

Trust me, street tires are useless with a 3000 stall. I've cut 1.65 60's and beat some bigger stalled LT1 and LS1 cars with a 3000 stall in my bolt on LT1.
It's really kind of funny but a lot of the people I come across that run big stalls never run the tire and suspension that they need to really take advantage of it.
