Well I think I found my new dd/work truck. Its a 1973 Chevy Custom Deluxe with a 350/350. The truck is super straight all original, original paint... everything. Has a Holley 4160 4bbl 600cfm carb and electronic ignition, Heddman Hedders, true dual Flowmaster exhaust with h-pipe, moves pretty good. In a few weeks Im gonna swap in my totaled Firebird's 700r4 so that way I have od for the freeway to help on the mpg's. Im even thinking of putting in my old TPI FI system which should be quite easy. I love driving the truck, big ass truck people get out of the way. Just feels cool when you drive it and I love that old school chevy interior smell, lets you know its a classic. Only repairs its needed so far has been a new fuel pump ($20), a spark plug wire (that I took from the Firebird), a drip from the trans pan gasket that I'll replace ($8) along with the filter this weekend and a slight gas drip (2 drops a minute, very slight) on the carb near the linkage. The carb rebuild kit is $22 and I plan on doing it myself. It could also use some new belts which are like $10. Its just that the truck has been sitting for so long. Its been driven 1,500mi in the last 3years. Still, the motors idles real smoothly and quietly until you get on it. It quieter than most newer cars. Cheap to fix, cheap parts, tons of parts, cheap insurance and no smog, and if you check the trucktrader these trucks in good condition are only going up in value. I dare a Honda to turn in front of me now!

I'll get better pics later:

199492

Future mods other than stated are rear bumper delete and add a roll pan and a lowering kit and some nice wheels. Thats all it needs.

from what i remember the tpi intake will not fit non-tpi heads so you might have to swap the heads as well

i dont think there was a difference on the tpi heads and tbi, vortec for shure is different where the bolts go straight down instead through the intake.

Thnx Tyler. I'll let you know. Might be a while for that. Trans is first on the agenda. We'll see how that goes.
