coolent temp sensor problem

coolent temp sensor problem ok i replaced my temp sensor with a new one and it worked great for about 2 months. now ill be driving and the car will sometimes die at idle then it wont start up for a few times. today while i was driving the temp went to 0 as i was pulling onto my street the temp went back to normal and the car acted fine again. idk what to do i replaced the sensor with autozone one idk if that could be why maby i need to dealership one? thx

It sounds more like you have a bad connection rather than a bad sensor. Check the sensor connector for bent pins or backed out pins and check the wire for abrasions.

ok i started the car and wiggled the wire that goes into the male connector and when i do this the car shuts off! i did this 3 times and it shut off all three times idk how you would replace this connector?

ok the old connector had wires showing that kept touching i taped them up and now the temp gauge will not move at all it just stays at 0 i check the codes and it says it has a voltage problem
