Default Help with choosing tires

ok so I'm keeping my ZR1 style SS wheels, but I need new tires for them. I want to put 275s on the front and 295s on the back, but I don't know if 295s will fit on the wheels. I believe the wheels are 17x9s. I'm thinking I want some Nitto 555s, but I don't know much about them. What do you guys recommend?

are you sure they're 9 or 9.5?
i have 9.5 and a 295 kdw g-force on my rear
295s would be pushing it IMO on a 9" rim i would go with 285 max

or run 275 all around so you could get the most out of your tires and rotate them ever so often...just an idea and be cheaper

285s bulge on those, i had them on my SS wheels for a bit. stick with 275s all the way around. i have 555Rs on the back of my bird. i would highly recommend the 555 for you or the BFG Super Sport. if you have the money, get GS D3s

x2!

I run 275/315 and sometimes wish it was just 275s so I could rotate em. Since 275/295 isn't a signicant difference, and all 4 wheels are the same size - keep the tires the same size too!

Lot more choices in 275s too.

I run the nitto 555 on the front and it's a 275. I like it a lot. I've had good luck with BFG KDWs too.

I just measured the wheels to be sure what size they are and it turns out they're 17x9.5s. MJ do you find that the 295s help with traction, or are they not worth it? Also one more question. Should I just have a shop just mount the tires to the wheel, or should I have them mount the tires, put the wheels on my car, and balance the tires?

Yes, have them mount and balance the tires.
As far as traction goes...yeah i get very good traction a lot of tire in the rear to grab and hook. It really all depends on what brand and what your intentions are/what your looking to spend...? good street tires vs. mickey Dr's ...... if your going to play... then wont last long reguardless
