Default Accufab 4150 TPS replacement.

Do any of you folks know the part number for the Accufab 4150 TPS? I know it is a GM late model TPS, and I bought one from Advance Auto that looks right and fits right (97 LT1 F-body I think it was), but on HP Tuners it reads 13% when the throttle is closed, and then as I push the accelerator pedal it goes DOWN to 0. Have any of you had problems with the LS1 computer reading the correct throttle position on an Accufab 4 BBL?

I see I can order a new one from Accufab...........for $43.00
I sent a couple e-mails asking about the vacuum ports on the body of the TB but never got any help from them. I wonder if they would help me with what car their TPS came from.
Since they sell them I am guessing I will not get any help there. Sucks because a new TPS from Advance was only $24.00.

I think I found the problem: From pics of the LT1 throttle body the throttle position sensor is on the correct side (passenger side) like the Accufab, but the LT1 opens pulling from the bottom rotating in the oposite direction from the LS1 throttle bodies and the Accufab. So, now I need to find out if anyone knows of the same style throttle position sensor that operates in the oposite direction of the LT1

I think I found an explanation:

http://chevythunder.com/fuel%20injec....%20pg%20B.htm

It seems I need a 1991 or later TBI sensor, not TPI.

It looks like you can swap 2 wires on the harness and it will work fine (the one you already bought).

Time to straighten out a paper clip and pop the electrical wires out of the harness connector like I had to do with my Racetronix fuel pump install.
Will report back this evening.......

is the 4150 designed to work with a Ford TPS like their regular throttle bodies work?

My 100mm Accufab came with a Ford TPS and CARTEK had to modify the harness. Even then the TPS shows 4% when fully closed on tuning software. They had to solve that problem as well but at least the percentage would go up when depressing the throttle.

Didn't work. What a pain in the *** that TPS connector is. The wire clips inside don't work like the ones in the fuel pump. I had to bend the clip, pull them all the way forward out of the connector, bend down two more clips and then the pulled all the way out backward and I could swap them. Then the pcm just read 100% all the time . Replaced the wires in the connector, took apart the TPS itself, no way to reverse the rotation. It is basically a spring loaded rheostat; if I reversed the rotation it would still start at 100% and go to 0%. It would just spring backward to 100%. Guess I head to Advance or Autozone tomorrow and see if they have on that rotates in the opposite direction.

No, it comes with a GM TPS. The one that came on mine was broken off at the harness connector.

Thats odd that the LT1 isn't working for you. I called F.A.S.T yesterday and asked them what TPS sensor I need for my Accufab 4150 TB(They make the TB's for Accufab) and I was told one from a 94-97 LT1 Camaro..I would be pissed if it doesn't work. Cost me $55 from GM.

I sent a couple e-mails asking about the vacuum ports on the body of the TB but never got any help from them.
What type of questions did you have about the vacuum ports?

Yep, the LT1 TPS rotates in the wrong direction. Autozone had a Duralast TPS from a 1994 Chevy 1500 5.7 TBI that works correctly. The Autozone stock # is TPS112. $29.99. It reads correctly.

The question I had about the vacuum ports was what size are the two small ones. I found the large center port was 1/8 NPT but never got an answer about the smaller ones. I was going to use a threaded plug but just used JB Weld instead.

Well, it read % correctly and made the car run, but not great. Turns out the voltages were not correct. I finally just ordered a TPS from Accufab and it is idling correctly, and going to PE at WOT now!

What did the Accufab TPS cost you? I have a brand new one in the box. I ended up finding mine..But not till after I had to buy two other TPS from the GM dealer to try out.

Hmmm....this has me wondering now. I put on an accufab tb and my percentage readings were way off. I used the scanner to see what % I was at and slowly adjusted the position of the TPS to where it read 100% at WOT and then tightened everything back up. Then adjusted the set screw to allow bring it down to 0%. Ok, problem solved with the tps % readings. But I still get a tps high voltage code that it's throwing. I initially thought it might have been because I extended the wires and nothing to be concerned about, but now I'm wondering if it's the TPS sensor alone that's my problem. And how does the voltage of the TPS affect the car? I noticed it's been hard to idle, but I just figured it was because my tune isn't nailed down yet.

If I remember right the PCM uses the throttle voltage reading along with MAP and a few others to decide if you are at idle, cruise, WOT. The PCM does not read percentage of throttle plate opening I don't think; I think that is just for our benefit/understanding.

Those ports are a tapered 10/32. They are damn near impossible to find fittings for. I ended up finding some from a dental supply place.

Part Number 17106681

*I know this I back from the dead, but I had searched without much luck. So I called Accufab and this is the PN he gave me. It was no problem at Napa
