Default anyone running 26 inch slicks on a 15 in wheel need a lil advice

Hey fellas, I just got my convo pros, I went with the 8.5 wide and 5.5 backspacing, any one running a 26 inch slick? what width,,,, I dont want the drag radials, these wheels had a set of them on them when I bought them, I am needing a full slick for a 6 speed car, so what are you guys fitting, I am looking at the hoosier 26x10x15 but in the specs is says recommended min width at 9 inches, I have 8.5 I think it would still be fine, anyone have any Ideas.

I want to stay with the 26 inch not the 28 because I have a 3.75 gear ratio, and I think the 26 will help the car.
Thanks fellas for any advice

You should be fine on a 8.5. I ran a 10.5 on a prostar...too lazy to look up the widths but im sure it was 8 or 8.5. And good choice on the tire height, a 28 would be for alot of power or a nitrous hit off the line...for that it works perfect

I run a M&H Racemaster 26X11.5X15 cheeter slick. On my m6 car it out hooked et streets and drags. I also out 60 my boy who did he runs hoosier ti'll he tried my M&H tires. This tire has beeen the best i've tried so far for hooking a m6 with 1.42 best 60's on them N/A. It also comes in a 26x10.5x15 and will fit your rim size. These are wrinkle wall tires. A 28'' tire will be too much for a 3.73 and would kill your n/a times. I have 4.11's and I spray a 150 shot on the 26'' tire off the line with near no spin. www.intercotire.com jegs sells the m&h too. Goodluck to ya.

I have the same Convo Pro's as you. I run a M/T 26x10x15. At first I had problems with the rim spinning in the tire at launch. Screwed the rim to the tire and have no problems at all. I lose a little air during a week, but just fill before the races. Running tubeless.

Been researching this topic myself, seems the consensus is to purchase a Stiff Wall slick for m6 cars, I got this info from some of our moderators running 9s or faster. You will benefit more from the SW slick if you after aftermarket suspension parts as well. GL

Wheels you have will work just fine for the tire you are looking at. Idealy you would like a wider wheel but unless you are pushing the tires to there abolute maximum you will be just fine.

+1 for that tire, plus those tires last a long time. I cut a 1.56 60ft time leaving on 3 psi, I have it up to 6 psi now but haven't been back to try it out.

My real worry was that the 26 inch tire would not be enough, I have a 6speed, H/C fast 92 etc, And I will be leaving on the spray, I have a 3.75 rear gear, so I figured that the 26 tire would help me with my 60 ft, but I am also worried that the tire wont hold the car, I am currently looking at the 27 inch M&H racemaster slicks, still up in the air about which way to go, I have seen post of guys running 9s on a 26 inch tire. I have all the good suspension goodies, so I a set there. I may need an airbag or drag bar have to run it to see. I am just really confused if the 26 inch tires will hold the car.

Jesus....3psi? Mine floats all over the place around 10psi....

Raron455- With just bolt ons and spray I easily over powered 26in tires, I would still suggest a 28in tire, if you leave on spray, it wont bog down..and hell Probably wouldnt on motor either. Guess it would ultimatly depend on your suspension set up

If you're gonna spray it out of the hole, go with the 27" or at minimum the wider 26/11.50 tire. I seriously doubt the 26/10.50 will hold a 150 shot out of the gate without a really well prepped track.

My car is a 6sp running 3.89 gears with a 26/10.50 ET Street on a 15x8" prostar and it's not hooking for me (N/A @ 5k rpm launch). Best 60' so far is 1.66 and spinning through most of first gear. Next year I'd like to step up to at least a 27/11.50 on a 10" wide wheel and adjust the rear gearing accordingly.

Im looking at the M&h tires also. Car is a 6speed with suspension and runs high 11`s. Im currently running 15x10 prostars with a 26x11.5 MT et street. Best 60' of 1.6 and wanting more. Car feels like it hooks and unloads so Im wanting to go with a 27" tire to help.

Should I go with a 26x11.5 M&H cheater or 27x10 full slick(out of stock I believe)? I saw in another post something about running a S (stiffwall) tire, and cant find these. Also should I run tubes or no tubes?
