Default turbo+stick...come ine

i have a small rear mount 60-1 behind my LQ4/T56. it gets to full boost at 3K. i want to get a bigger turbo but i know it will take more time to spool up. i will be setting it at 14psi w/meth. i was thinking between the 67 and the t70. im alsow thinking about the t76 but when should i get full boost around these bigger turbos or would it be better to ditch the sts and get something else. i mean is it worth it trying to get to the 600-700hp with a rear mount?

Really for the money and your small power goals....just put n20 on the car and call it a day, all problems solved..To do anything else is going to cost ton of money and make it harder to drive and spool up.

speak to 1320 on hear about quick spool up valves. he could also problalby recomend a turbo for you. Zombie has had great results with his T80 rear mount using one of the valves.

or you could go bigger turbo and N2O!...

ive seen the valve threads, it looks cool. zombie swapped to auto. but i want to know how the front mounts spool with sticks. im thinking of going fm but i dont know if it will be that much of an improvement. i would consider a larger blower but i dont know how these things are.

With the bigger turbos you need a lot more rpm and that in itself makes it hard to shift, spool, and turn into a pocket monster.. IF you need help like this read my other resent posts...

one worry about manual cars is keeping the boost between shifts. There is a thread on here started yesterday that talks about flat shif kits. these could really help anyone with a large turbo and manual car maintain boost between shifts.

As for getting the thing spooled up in the first place then you need a little helping hand, either from a sniff of the laughing gas (N2O) or one of these quick spool valves.

Cheers

Chris.

I flat shift my car I just have the rev limiter set to 4500 in neutral, it works awesome and keeps the turbo spooled. It never goes past 6500 rpm on the datalogger.

How does the PCM see the 6 speed in neutral, Im confused here.. Im going to use my 2 step somehow to flat shift, have a synergy 2step and LOVE it.. A 2 step is a complete necessity if you plan to drag a 6 speed turbo car. Then you can put a good sized turbo and not worry about spooling it up, the 2 step does it for you. I know my lil PT88 spools in a heartbeat on my 402

i have the synergy in my car and once the clutch is disengaged at the line it turns off the 2 step and it wont activate again until the switch is turned off and turned back on. so unless you turn it on and off every gear it wont work for flat shifting it.

Yeah, I was going to ask peter kulka if it could be re-programmed or wired differently for a flat shift. But honestly I don't see how this makes much of a difference if you have a good enough BOV anyway?

Dude...this is the only way your going to be able to flat shift when u start making full power with your car. A BOV is nothing compared to interupting the ignition doing a shift.....it's night and day! It makes the shift even possible with my 1100+rwhp.

not sure how it figures it out but here it is... I have tried shifting the car off the regular rev limiter too at 6500 and it seemed to work fine too. But this way you can spool the turbo off the line..

Flat shift 1-2nd gear went to 6556rpm..

Its a bit hard to see the pics so I may be mistaken. However, from what Ive read before, using the factory pcm for flat shifting cuts fuel not spark. That is not what you want for a stick turbo setup, you want spark cut not fuel.
