Default 750RWHP + guys, which main caps are you running?

Just curious on the census here, seems like some swear by billet then pinned mains, some pinned stockers, some stock fasteners some ARP's etc. What are you guys running, and problems if any? I guess stroke plays a factor as well so I'd like to hear thoughts.

stock caps, arp studs...

if you were to do anything, i would say pin them. billet caps are a waste imo, esp at 750rwhp. have you checked your bearings?

I wonder what the limits of stock caps and bolts would be? I'm assuming piston speed is more of an issue, 4.125 stroke probably wasn't the best idea, but then again, we never meant to make as much power as the car does now. How far do you guys think I can push these (if I'm not already doing it too much)?

I guess it would depend on your budget. Stock main caps are pretty stout but there is a bit of insurance with a billet main cap. I would say the best low coat option would be to have your stock caps pinned to prevent cap walk. Then ARP main studs and also make sure you line bores are in spec

My thing is, the motor is already together, and if it comes out, this won't be the same one going back in. I'm curious how much I'm pushing my luck.

Just tore my motor down and inspected everything. Absolutely no sign of any issue with the bearings. Stock caps and ARP studs.

Haven't been on a dyno lately but my iron 370 uses stock caps with ARP studs. Been 10.30's and 130MPH in my 4950LB 4x4.

pinned stock caps, no girdle and ARP studs...mains were happy in my motor (~1600-1800 hp)

will probably put billet ones in though as cheap insurance on the rebuild since we may try to eclipse the 2K hp mark

Haha, well I feel better. I just hope that when it does let go, that it stays in the pan and keeps oil off the rear tires.
