I know this is a few month old thread, but Im in the same boat right now. I want to run 1/2 studs in the front because I have these fancy, pretty looking aluminum inserts and 12 point nuts I want to run. Looks like I have to find the right knurl size and drill them. I plan on using press in studs. It may be a little bit till I get to it but I will post up what I used when I do it,unless you have already let me know

Bump. What's it take to get this done? Take off the front hub assembly and take it to a machine shop, or is it not even worth the upgrade? I really don't want to break a wheel off from coming down hard. Has anyone done it?

I put press-in 1/2-20 studs in the front hubs of my car to match the 1/2" studs in the QP 9". I bought Moroso #46185 3" studs. I did some research online before I did mine and found most people prefer .010-.020 smaller hole than the knurls. Moroso recommends the hole drilled to be .005-.010 smaller than the knurls. I drilled the holes out with a 9/16" bit then finished it off with 37/64" drill bit. 37/64 made it .016 smaller than the .594 knurls on the 46185 studs. Just have to make sure the drill is held straight and firm, I also drilled the holes in the brake rotors a little larger.
