Default Pontiac People.. Please look!!

A couple of weeks ago I sent an E-mail regarding a web site that has recently been launched, one that
all of us can relate to. It is the SAVINGPONTIAC.ORG web site and as the name of the site implies,
that is its sole purpose.
The SAVINGPONTIAC.ORG web site has been gaining momentum the past few weeks. I was the 80th
signature on the petition and as of this writing there are over 340 petition signatures, and their efforts
are noted on 75 sites around the Internet. Take the time to check out this web site.
Thanks to everyone that has signed the petition and for those that haven’t, please do; just go to
www.savingpontiac.org and the “Sign Our Petition” link is on the right. Also, send this web site link and
message to your friends, and post on any car, news or special interest forums that you think will display
an interest in saving Pontiac. As Ben Holcomb, the Founder and Exec Director of savingpontiac.org
said – “Awareness is our biggest weapon in this effort to save a Great American Brand.”
And just as importantly, this is not only a chance to save Pontiac but it is a chance to save the 20,000
to 40,000 jobs that would exist if Pontiac continued as a separate Company.
Here is a recent press release from the savingpontiac.org web site:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
09/30/2009
SAVINGPONTIAC.ORG SEEKS SUPPORT FROM TAXPAYER WATCHDOG
(Atlanta, GA) – Savingpontiac.org issued an open letter to Mr. Thomas Schatz, President of the
non-profit watchdog group Citizens Against Government Waste (www.cagw.org) requesting
support for the effort to reprise the Pontiac Brand.
Over the last several months Savingponitac.org has been waging a grassroots campaign to
encourage the Treasury Department and The Senior Advisor to the President (Ron Bloom) to
reconsider the decision to retire, from the General Motors inventory, the Pontiac
brand and useable factories. Savingpontiac.org believes that if Pontiac and those factories
were turned over to an entrepreneurial management team, in conjunction with a modest
Government Loan, 20,000 to 40,000 direct and indirect jobs would be created almost overnight.
“We have every reason to believe that the Pontiac brand and products can be as vibrant,
desirable and profitable as they once were” said Ben Holcomb, Executive Director of
SavingPontiac.org. He continued: “We are hopeful that that CAGW will view the situation with
the same concern, excitement, and opportunity for the economy that our organization believes
is available with a few very easy decisions by our policy makers. After all, who loses when
20,000 jobs are created overnight?”
About SavingPontiac.org Savingpontiac.org is a non-partisan, non-profit organization focused
on the influencing policy making regarding the disposition of the Pontiac Brand by The
Treasury Department and General Motors.
