Default L92 fox mustang build

Well I have just started a new project.

I bought a L92 core with a 6.2 alum block and complete L92 heads.

Planing on doing a 4" stroke 4.080" bore. 11.5 cr

Hyd roller. FTI as always will be doing the cam.

L92 vic jr with a 4 hole TB

I will be using a ford AEM. I have been using the Ls1 coils for a year.

C4 behind it because it has a lifetime warranty.
8" converter that will stall somwhere in the 5800-6000 range. not sure who will build the converter yet Coan or UCC.

Using my custom stainless 1 3/4 headers with new addapter plates from the ford motor.

I still need to get a water pump, alternator, rotating assembly, cam and chain, PR, and rocker trunion upgrade.

This is going to be a cool deal when it is done.

Will put some pics of the car up still has a customer 428" blower motor in the car that I am taking out testing this weekend.

Hi Tim!
It's nice to see you here. I want to see this set up materialize and see it running strong at the track because there's no doubt in my mind it will.

As for the converter, I talked to Lenny to modify my current converter made by him and he told me that he don't know what's required to make it work with the C4. The folks from J.W know what needs to be done and they quote me $300-350 to do it. Maybe Coan can build you one outright that doesn't have to start as a C4 converter and then modify it.

Keep this thread updated as you go since I'll be looking forward for my build early next year.

Good luck!

I talked with jw and I am not convinved they can make it do what I want it to do. Craig at Coan said it was not a big deal just need the bellhousing and flex plate for measurments.

The car has been 10.115 with a pump gas na 408 ford motor drove on drag week.

It is not going to make that kind of power but I hope to go high 9's

I am going to order the crank and cam sensor wiring pigtails.

Even if it "doesn't make the power" I know you will run 9's with it. Remember that everybody was saying that your simple 408w was BS and it was not possible to run those times with that combo?

got to the track today with a 428 SBF in the car today first time out with it and went 10.08 133
this is a blower motor 9.8-1 with blower cam.

I only expected 10.50's

This ls1 needs to run at least that good

No he's talking about his friends 428 he put into his mustang. I dunno Tim there is one other guy running in the 9s lol NA with that combo. But I think you will run 9s easy, i think the C-4 is more friendly on getting the power down compared to the Turbo 350.

No, the fella that posted above you was asking if he meant L92 as opposed to the OP replying that the "LS1 needs to run atleast that good". He looked to be correcting the LS1 comment, not asking if he had an LS1 in the car. See thread title for the correction.

Should be a nice build and def. a quick ride for sure, keep us posted man!

I looked at some data today and see a couple areas for improvment. Going to change the gear in the car and tie the front end down a little and see what we get. When it stood up if flat lined the RPM on landing.

Picked up a few things in the last couple weeks.

Valve covers, alt bracket and hardware, AJE mounts, Exh rockers and bolts for all of them, some gaskets.

Going to order a bellhousing for the c4 soon.

then I can get it in the car and see if the headers will work.
