Default MAF readings at Idle/WOT

I was checking my MAF reading via a scanner and noticed that at idle (1500) my maf was showing 6.14-5.94 hz, or what ever that is. I have also noticed that it is pig rich. Can this be due to a bad maf or bad tuning. I read somewhere that said that if your MAF goes out the computer will compensate by throwing a lot of fuel into the engine. At WOT my AFR goes to 9.4 and my car looks like "Spy Hunter" with all the smoke. Any help is greatly appreciated.

A stock car idles around 3000Hz. Why are you idling at 1500?

If the PCM thinks the MAF has failed then it just uses the VE tables to calculate fueling. If those aren't tuned then it could be rich or lean.

Disable dynamic airflow and log MAF Hz vs. fuel trims then multiply the MAF table by the amount of positive fuel trims.

There is a PID that eliminates and PE readings but I don’t have it on this computer.
