Hi everyone, I was just wondering. I hadnt started my car in about a week and a half or so. I go to start it up and as soon as it starts up I hear loud pop/bang noise, almost like a loud backfire POP noise. I only hear one bang though, right when the car started. It did not seem to come from the exhaust out back, but more under the car and under me or around me, but pretty sure it wasnt from back out the exhaust tips. I was scared to run the car so I let it idle for maybe 1 minute at the most then just shut it off and took my moms car.

Any ideas??

There have been other times where I havent started the car in a week or so but its never done this.

Its a H/C 02 WS6, true duals, usual bolt ons, etc. I have cats before the xpipe and believe i may be running a little too rich, but still, never did it before.

Pop or Bang not too bad. Kahboom very bad! As long as it only happened once and wasn't a metal on metal sound you're probably OK.

definetely not metal on metal, its like an air pressure backfire bang pop sorta sound if that makes any sense lolol,

Ya I just started again today, took a little longer to start than usual, but no bang, everything seems fine thanks guys

sounds like a backfire, keep a close eye on the way its running for a couple of days if all is good i wouldnt worry about it .. good luck

thats funny dude, same thing happen today to me, but mine turned right off from that gay GM security, i wouldnt worry about it.

just a back fire from all the fuel probably was loading up before you parked so when you shut it off their was some unburnt fuel
