Default 06 impala ss

28k miles, just looked under the car do change the oil, noticed there is fresh oil sitting all over the oil filter and trans pan.. cant really see where its coming from.. should i take it into the dealer? anybody have the same issue?

Check if it's coming from the rear main seal. Mine was replaced at 28k miles!

ok will do.. i put off changing the oil till i can get a good look at it.. i probly should just take it in to the dealer before ido anything correct? how long does it usualy take the dealer to replace the seal?

If you're under warranty I'd take it to the dealer.

Also, take a picture of it. Then clean it all off and re-inspect it in a few days. It there's fresh oil definitely take it to the dealer.

My SS was at my dealer for 3 days to get the rear main replaced. They didn't start working on it until the day after I dropped it off, and it took the guy a day and a half to do it.

I agree with CentexSS, if it is under warranty, definitely take to the dealer. No sense in paying or it you attemping to do it if they will do it for free!
