Default Safe Rev limit for an LQ4?

I posted this in the tuning board with no replys, Going back to the tuner tomorrow so Im looking for some replys before then.

My set up is a 01 Z28 A4 with an LQ4 with ASA cam, 226/236 .525 lift 110LSA. Right now the rev limit is set at 6200.

Should I keep it at 6200 or would it be ok to raise it alittle?

Thanks

My motor (LQ4) is balanced and I feel pretty comfortable going max 7500RPM. I shift it at the track around 7000RPM.

What year LQ4 is it? Does it have stock rod bolts in it?

It is a 2004 and its a stock long block, except for the cam and springs. Motor has 41K miles on it.

If it's a stock long block I wouldn't go above 6200. The balancing at the factory is not exactly perfect not to mention the rotating assembly uses bolts that I wouldn't trust beyond 6200. I made an assumption you were talking about a built motor.

2004 should have better rod bolts than older LS1's and the original LQ4's...I think you'd be safe going a little higher than 6200...6500 maybe?

Look at the dyno and spin it 2-300 past where the power peaks. You don't mention your IM but I bet it is <6500 with that cam...

I got it raised to 6600. We didnt dyno it yesterday but he tweaked it and got some more power out of it.

Feels alot better and the TC is locking up like it should now.

my limit is 7000 on my LQ4... but I never go that high. I usually shift around 6200 or so I'd say. Anything around 7000 is asking for trouble IMO and not really needed unless your cam calls for it...
