Default chevelle install ?

Please chime in those with experience installing an LS/tko combo into an A body(68 chevelle). Can the engine trans be installed together or must the trans be installed independently. Can at least the bell be installed on the motor? Im using the typical autokraft pan and edl mounts but was hoping to do as much preassembly as possible. Thanks

I've installed an LQ4 with a 4l80 and CTS-v pan as one unit in my '67 chevelle. I can't imagine you having any trouble with LS/tko in a '68.

You should be able to install it either way.. eng/tran combo (it can be a tight fit) or engine 1st with bell housing and then bolt in the trans.

IMO ...it will cut time if you drop them in together..! but mock up the adapter / engine mount 1st without the trans...

On my 67 there was really not enough room to install them together. However a 68 should have slightly more room. I would still recommend doing them as one.

With the Autokraft pan it can all go in together.
