i have a couple pics to help. i've gone through several different set ups myself. 1) once i got tired of the stock plastic grill insert, i bought the grill in my first pics. i installed it on top of the plastic insert- i had this for a couple years. loved it, and got many compliments. 2) about 7 months ago i decided to change it up. i got rid of the billet grill and the plastic insert grill completely, leaving it like you have now. it was okay...for a while. 3) a couple months ago when i got the car painted i got the chrome fill-ins... much better- and very reasonable price from emblempros.com. 4) a few weeks after still not liking the overall empty look of the front i bought my SLP grill insert. painted the red chevy emblem that comes with it a silver/mirror like color. i absolutely LOVE this look. so clean and aggressive. my vote is for this grill. here are a few pics of my first and last grills.

as she sits now.

i thought it was a bit much too, which is why i decided to switch it up. the slp grill is definitely a subtle look because it doesn't just try to fill the gap with a flat wall pretty much like the billit grills and many other aftermarket inserts do.

-as far as the mesh you're talking about, i have heard about and seen that too. i know someone on this board said he fabricated some mesh inserts that he got off of a grand prix. if i were gona do something like that, id probably be a little cheap/creative and try to get some wire mesh from home depot and make something to fit in there.

good luck with whatever you choose.

what kind of paint did you use to paint the SLP that color instead of the red and was it difficult?

^not sure if you're asking me or not. the slp grill does not come with the bowtie attached, it is seperate and you have to apply it yourself. it has a sticky back. so before i put it on i just painted the bowtie with some krylon spray paint, and then clear coated it with dupli-color clear for more durability since it is on the front of the car. once it dried i installed it. very easy.

yeah i was directing the question toward you. sorry. hmph i didnt know it was separate... ok thats cool

well thanks for that bit of info on the slp you may have sold me on it...

i was originally considering buying a black stull grill from afterthoughts auto for $140 and then the chrome inserts for $60 but i wasnt sure if you could see them behind it or not

any ideas on that?

as far as the stull grills go, i personally am not a huge fan, though i have seen enough camaro's that look great with them to know that it can be pulled off if done right. but the ones i have liked have all been chrome on colors like SOM, NBM, red, pewter and silver, i've never really seen a black camaro i really cared for with it, no offense Blacked_Out_SS. before i finally decided to take my billet grill off, i painted it black to see how it'd look. drove it around for 2 days and pulled it off. i didn't like the look it gave to the front end.

if you do decide to go with this grill, dont waste your money on the letter fill-ins, they will become very distorted from the lines of the grill and you wont be able to read it good. dont waste your money, just leave it straight black.
-another nice looking grill you may like- http://6litereaterdesigns.com/store/...17e70f5920b851 -though i still dont know if i'd like it on a black camaro

but if you do decide to get the slp grill, buy it from LMPperformance. they have the best deal on it $213 shipped
here's the link- http://www.lmperformance.com/737/1.html

sorry for going on so much. but i've been working with my black camaro for a few years now, so i've given this kind of stuff a lot of thought.

well i really appreciate hearing ur thoughts crimson because it does help my thought process.. haha

but yeah im leaning toward the SLP with the emblem pained white or a reflective paint...

so it just snaps right in place of where the old grill was?

yeah idk i liked the black stull grill but that painted emblem looks sharp
