So I Un-VHT'd My Tails.......
And they came out great! I was so worried when I started this that I was going to ruin them, but they actually came out pretty well! I did the VHT about a year ago, and they grew on me at first, then I just didn't like them anymore, so I took 120 grit to them(that's the part that I was scared about, lol). Then after getting the majority of the shade off, stepped up to 340, 400 wet, 600 wet, 800 wet, 1000 wet, 1500 wet, and finally 2000 wet. Then I hit them with some Meguiar's Ultimate Compound. It was an all day project and a **** load of sanding, but I think it makes the rear flow a lot better. Comments/questions are welcome. Enjoy!

i might have to give that a try on my girlfriend's 3rd Gen. Camaro. she recently bought a '92 that somebody must have sprayed them in the dark......they have a few runs and they generally look like crap. and i suppose it's better than going out and buying another set so hopefully when she has it put away for the winter i can give this a try. Thanks!

Wow.. you just gave me hope.
I didnt want to do my tails because I was so afraid that I would never be able to get it off and I REALLY dont wanna spend a few hundred on another set of pristine tails.
I think im gonna spray tint my tails now

it looks great. i went through the same exact thing with my camaro. i liked them at first, but after having them on for around 3 years got tired of it and did the same. except i still didn't like the amber color on the back so i resprayed them again, this time all red- check the sig.

Nice. I too prefer the lights to be left alone.
In my opinion, the lack of detail that can be seen when tinted, makes the lights look cheap. I am not all that fond of the honeycomb look these lights come with, but prefer it over a blank piece of plastic the tinted tails look like.

Yeah when I took the 120 to the tails, I was just thinking in my head "wtf am I doing?"
SOOOOOOOOO much wetsanding!!! The polishing didn't take too long, but just because I spent so much time making sure the wetsand was good. Yeah man you're car looks great the way it is. I saw some of the pics you put up a couple months back in that parking garage, they came out great

I liked it at first, but after I did the CETA, it really didn't look right to me. It looks a lot better now. Now I just need some damn wheels, just don't know what to get....
