Default Wiring???

Does anyone know if it is possible to put an electric (Ford) fan on my '57 Chevy??? Don't GM and Ford have different wiring ideas...GM = Negative Ground & Ford = Positive Ground...or, something like that???

I'm pretty sure that Ford hasn't used positive ground since the 30's. You should be able to use any fan you want if you hook the positive wire to power and the ground to ground. If you reverse them, it will still run, but the fan will spin backwards.

c'est simple. use a 75a relay though and hefty wire - taurus fan pulls cover 100a (briefly) at startup and around 40a during operation

Some light reading

Ive got the 2 speed Taurus fan in my Olds, I played with it a bit and found that it blew 25 Amp fuses and 30 Amp fuses are good and dont burn up in there.

Almost any electrical device will draw large amounts of current during its starting moment. Thats when it is developing the most torque and currect inrush is highest then.
