Default 315/35R17 on AR TTM 17x10.5 - Will it Rub?

Hey guys,

I've read thru as many posts as I can on wheels for my car - thanks for all the information, but I'm still searching for one answer: I know that a 315 will go on the 10.5 Torq Thrust M Rear, but will it rub? Is there any modification that I need to do to make it work? I have a stock height SS convertible and want a wider tire than a 275/40 for the rear, but don't want to modify or bend anything. If a 315 won't work, how big can I go - a 285/40? Thanks in advance. Poison

You don't have to modify as long as you don't lower it. Then you most likely have to roll the fenders.

Stock height no problem!
If you already have a adjustable PHB, then lowered should be no problem also.

just get an adjustable phb or roll
the rear quarter lips with a fender roller.

i got one for rent if you don't want to buy the roller.

Rear inner fender is wider in a Firebird than a Camaro.

Read the wheels stickey above. You will most likely need to remove the bump stop, BFH mod and possible roll the fenders, even @ stock height.

I was running 315/35R17 Nitto Drags with no problems on my TTM's. So was my buddy on his Camaro.

An adjustable PHB would be great if you don't have one. Help's center the rear and if you have to "clearance" anything it will be minimal if the rear is already centered.

Welcome to the club.

Lowered 1.8" (probably more since the springs are settled)
Rolled lips
Stock Bump stop
Hammered inner fender well
Double adjustable PHB

1.6 drop
Bmr adj phb
315/35 nitto 555's
TTII's though

Had to hammer front of the fenderwell, and roll the lips. Bumpstops are stock, only rubs on them when the springs are fully decompressed.

You should be fine with stock ride height. Lowering is when you'll have to start modifying

Make sure you have an adj panhard and make sure your rear is centered. If so you'll be fine. I am running the same thing right now.
