If it don't work good on an LS1 why would you put one on a LS9?

Not quite understanding this. You're asking if someone is going to ditch the LS9 charger in favor of a KB?

How about a Whipple W510AX 8.3L twin screw supercharger in place of the stock LS9 charger? I'd like to see what one of those could do for ZR1 or CTS-V ...

doubt it would benefit from such a large blower. it would have trouble spinning it. if n e thing a 2.9L, 3.4L or i believe they have a 4.0L, i'm sure n e of those will out perform stock supercharger.

Sure it would. You would just have a really large clear bubble instead of a little one.

What makes you say they don't work good on an LS1?

What year/color is your vette? I will keep an eye out for it. I work just down Rt. 1 from you in the Springfield/Lorton area.

i was just wondering because the kb's did great on the cobras and those were boost built motors so i figured it might be the same story for the ls9s

Well..O.k. The Cobras did well to a certain point. What is the highest KB Cobra out there? 800-850? I really don't know for sure but I know us guys in the Vette world are trying to get past that as the blowers are advertised in the 1K range but what will it take to get them there? The stock Corvette KB kit will not get there for a couple of technical reasons with layout and packaging concerns. I think the unit itself is capable but there are a lot of limiting factors when you put it on a platform that has to be road worthy. The setup in the Whipple thread isn't really feasible for a sustained all weather ordeal. I can hack up my Z06 and have the blower sitting 18 inches out of my hood and the packaging problems are not there but I can't drive that safely on the road. It is all about perspective and purpose. Could I have built a 1200rwhp Kenne Bell Camaro from my old 2000 SS? Yes. Would it have been practical? No. So I settled for a Z06 that will put down 800rwhp and I will have some fun with it, sell it, and buy another project.

LS9 already make 600+ horsepower. How much more do you want for the street?

Not only that but the astute audience that can afford the ZR1 will not tinker more than a pulley change and bolt on mods. If you can afford the crate engine then you are just wasting your money anyways as you can build a better engine through the aftermarket for less.

Couldn't Agree More. So did you look and see what you would have had to do on your Camaro to make this fit?

I investigated and the cowl being cut was the only way as I did not want to mess with the K-member on a possible wheel standing 130-140 mph trap speed car. Cowl reconstruction and a huge hood was the only way.

I was looking more toward using a Tubular K-Member from BMR WITHOUT motor mounts and then using some MadMan Front/Mid Mount Plates to move the engine where I needed. Of course I could cut the cowl a little to keep from moving the engine to far forward. Hopefully I'll be able to start this build soon and keep you guys posted.
