What are "799" heads? I have been told that they are the same as "243"s . It this true?

Do they have the same hollow, filled valves and do they flow the same as 243 heads?

From what I understand the 243 come on corvetts and have the sodium filled valves. The 799 come on the ls2 gto and have regular valves.

Its not weird it can happen hell they are both set of heads are made in the same plant if they get mixed up is not a big deal what you have to look for is if they have the valves. I am sure if you pull them they have the solid valves.

I also remembered this
my 05' silverado 5.3L had 799 heads
my 08' has the 243 like I said, I'm sure you're right about the valves being solid but what about the size? Truck vavles are smaller

Yeah I understand but if the set of 243s got put in the 799s assembly line then the valve seat gets cut to the smaller valve. Computers can't differentiate they just do.
