Question AAAHHHHH! I'm yankin this tranny apart asap.. Help

Sup guys..
I think I've had it with this tranny/clutch.. I have a 6speed ss with some kind've high performance clutch(not quite sure what custom clutch the previous owner had installed in it). i've read the other threads but can't find one with same symptoms
symptoms-
-Comes out of third gear by Itself once in a while
-Clutch pedal has a lil more tension now
-the rpms over 4500 get whichever gear its in STUCK... Sometimes I can pump it a a lil to help force it out..
-When shifting it just grinds outta NOwhere and yanks back in neutral
-Hard to push it in reverse

I'm not too sure whats wrong with this but I Need to fix it. I'm just going to take it apart this weekend and hope i find the problem....
Any Advice is Greatly Appreciated guys... Help a fellow LS1 owner out ha
Thanks

im not a complete expert but sounds like you need to rebuild that tranny man. the sticking in gear and popping out are clear signs something isnt right from my understanding. maybe someone with more experience will jump in here with a different diagnosis.

Could be 2 problems Sounds like the clutch might not be completely disengaging and that may have worn out syncros in the trans. Rebuilding a isn't that hard I have done 2 now.

if its popping out of gear, the synchro keys could be damaged aswell...

Alright guys. I took the t56 apart. Looked at the synchros and all of the gears. Everything looks good. No teeth missing. How can I tell if the synchro is bad? is it noticable? I just ordered a clutch and snap ring kit. When they come in. I'm goin to try to put this puzzle back together

You can't really tell by looking at them. I would order the Tick Perf. Stage II Kit and put it back together with that.

Take a look at the picture below. It is NOT the actual gear the is going to be worn out but the engagement teeth. You can see in the pics that the little engagement teeth is worn down. The teeth should be sharp (when the sychro ring slides over the teeth and the clutch is not disengaged all the way, the grinding will occur). The second picture shows the synchro ring worn. The Tick Stage II is most likely what you will need, unless the engagement teeth are worn or missing.

in my case the situation with 3rd gear popping out was a worn syncro and when i would get on it the clutch peddle would not come back so a rebuilt 3rd syncro and new stock slave and master fixed the problem.

If your synchro looks like the 2nd picture, then your engagement teeth should be looked at very closely. I will bet you will need gears also.
