Glad I decided to dump my wastegate
Since the wastegate dump tube didn't line up, I figured I'd just hack it off and vent right to atmosphere...and I'm sure as **** glad that I did. I couldn't believe how fubar'd the opening where it dumps back into the exhaust was, it looks like a freaking rat chewed the hole! Dunno how badly this would have affected performance, but I'm glad I found this before trying to use it. I guess that's the downside of the eBay method

That would have led to some boost creep! I hacked my WG pipe totally off my PTK kit (the original manufacturers of a good product but they stole peoples money and went out of buisness so now they are copied) but anyway the wastegate provision is only good enough for a 38 mm or so, way to small, put a 2" pipe on there and a big old Tial and you will be in buisness my friend!

Sweeeet How long of a dump pipe do I need on the wastegate anyway? I made a short one out of the pipe off the kit but it's only 4"-5" or so. Will that work or do I need to take it out of the engine bay?

Tube length on the dump tube is only relative to where you want the exhaust to exit, makes no difference in performance. Although too small of a tube or to sharp bends might cause creep.

Unfortunately I didn't take an pics of it and I just wrapped the downpipe. I ended up cutting the pipe off about 1" up. I cut slits in the remaining pipe down to about 1/4" or so from the downpipe, then bent the slits over on each other and welded up the seams. That way I can still cut it off and weld up another pipe to the dump location.

I'm using the feed from the junction pipe as normal, but I'm using the pipe that I cut off as a dump pipe. Should end up somewhat like this, but I may end up changing that angle or taking it further downstream.

Pretty much
But there's a big difference between stuff like that and welding up an entire setup from scratch...maybe now I might be able to do it but when I bought the kit, before I had any actual hands-on experience laying out a turbo setup, I don't think it woudla been possible.

Nah, I've been lazy about taking pics on this project and I've got it off again to drop the k-member.
Like XtremeDime said, he's got the same kit and has a recent thread with pics. If you search his threads you'll find it, as well as Monello, Dean95Z28, 98Camarod, and Frost all have build threads with tons of good pics and info.
