replacing LT1 rag joint shaft with LS1 shaft
Apparently it's more beneficial to replace the LT1 Fbody intermediate steering shaft with an LS1. I just have a quick question, does the bulky part of the LS1 shaft go toward the rack side, or toward the firewall side?
TIA!
TIA!

That's cool, i called Spohn Racing and they said it was the same mounting position from LT1 to LS1 K-member, the only difference in the K-members is aparently the motor mount positions. Now for my final question, Will the same power steering fittings fit from LT1 to LS1?

So to make this simpler, it's easier to explain what I'm doing. I own a 1996 3.8 Camaro w/ 5 speed, I also purchased an LS6 w/T-56 trans out of an 04 Cadillac CTS-V with all the goodies. The Rag joint is making driving interesting and I don't have the cash yet for the swap, so I'm trying to upgrade and prepare for the swap, (why fix this twice? ) So I have the 3.8's Power steering pump, and the old school rack. Although thepump isn't the same 3800 to LS6 i was hoping the existing power steering lines would work with my LT1 style rack, or did you have to swap a pump and lines into your vehicle to make it work? I'm buying the rack and intermediate shaft for the LS6 swap regardless, I just don't want to have to shovel out $250 my cost for the rag joint style intermediate shaft as well. Any ideas?

Honestly, I'd just swap everything to the LSx style. I went a head and did it. Just find a parts car somewhere and buy everything from the same car. I found a 'bird that had been smashed in the rear end. I got the pump, lines, rack, and steering knuckle for $150.
