Default Help me select a set of budget heads for goal??

See sig, Running stock 241's with patriot shimmed dual gold valve springs, and trunion upgrade on rockers.

Im not trying to spend a lot of cash or drop Compression any more. What would be a step up that flows good with FI, and I can still use all other parts. The stockers now will be a restrictive hold back as to what the engine and turbo are capable of.

Looking to buy a set bare, that are polished and flow better then 241's, cheap!!

what compression are you at now? if you don't want to gain compression then 243's are out. if you don't want to lose compression then stock 317's are out as well. a set of 317's with a nice VJ, some bowl work, and a mill to keep compession the same would be a nice improvement over a set of 241's. this would be a nice budget upgrade. with the price of the castings and the work you would be around $800

Maybe pick up a used set just not sure what to go for on the street. Im at 9.6:1 at the moment. Down the road when this is not a DD I will put 317's on and be around 8.5:1 and throw more boost. But for the street and drivability the 9.6:1 I like.. But these stock heads are costing me 60+hp in the setup if not more. Just everyone I talk to says dont waste your money in the 241's.. and around $800 would be great. Could I not mill a set of 317's and still benefit?

you can but i'm not sure you can get down to 66cc without milling the intake side as well( not sure). look in the eastern section classifieds. ls1impulse has a set of ported 317's he got down to 60cc but he had the intake side milled as well. they are real cheap too. i think a set of 317's with the bowl work would be the budget way to go

The PRC Stage 1 LS6 heads are a great buy for a budget. At right at 1k you'll have a great flowing set of heads for the $$$. We also offer cnc ported 241 stage 1.5 heads for $700 with stock springs. This combo moves high 280s cfm using the stock 241 chamber. It's nowhere near as good air flow as the LS6 heads, but for very little $$$ it's a good option.

Can I buy them bare and use my springs, shims, valves, rockers etc? Really dont need the springs. This would be a good upgrade for FI? Thanks for all the other parts, I got all my stuff thru you..

Also what would the LS6's do as far as my compression now? Also my cam is .595 lift so the LS6 put me close to 300CFM am I reading this correct?
