Default Help: How to properly read trans dipstick to check fluid level???

Ok Im trying to check the level of trans fluid on my car. On the dipstick it apears the liquid ends a few mm above the holes in the dipstick. However, both holes are not filled with fluid. Im not sure whether the level is above the holes or below?

I know this is a bump from a LONG time ago. But I always have this same issue. Dipstick is all wet, especially towards the bottom. However the holes aren't filled... granted the bottom hole will sometimes fill which makes me think I'm dead on.

Getting a trans fluid level accuratly can be a pain in the ***. I like to check it after I have driven the car to make sure the trans is fully up to temp. Trans fluid expands when heated so the level changes. I wipe the stick and dunk it and hold it in for a few seconds, then check it on both sides. I do this bc sometimes only looking at one side can be misleading. If in question wipe it and dunk it again. As many times as it takes to be sure on your reading.

Yes. That's the only way. Park or neutral.
