Default Cutouts worth it?

is it worth it to get exhaust cutouts if i already have TDs...?
it would seem to me it's jus going to be going from loud to louder, which i have no problem with, but is tehre enough of any kind of gain to warrant the expense?

i would guess not. TD's are already very free flowing. i would say invest in something else.

^ yea, cutouts are only efficient when the exhaust after the cutout is very restrictive. Such as if you have cats or a restrictive muffler on the car a cutout before them would yield greater gains

If you can get rid of the cats and not break any laws, then go for it. Every little bit helps. IMO

Im not sure if its worth it ... It will be louder but not sure about gains .. Oh wait, you will gain the smell of gasoline if you run no cats But I love my cutout haha. I have flowmasters out back and forgot what the car sounds like with the cutout closed !!

Gained 21 whp by opening my cutout. My setup is Mac mids, ORY, cutout, stock I pipe through a Flowmaster.....as someone mentioned earlier that the gains will be more significant if you have a restrictive exhaust after the cutout. See my setup as case and point.

i have LTs, dual cutouts, a 2 to 1 cat and stock type muffler. i can definitely feel the difference with them open. i never close them unless im in a drive thru or a cop is tailing me lol

unless u like the sound or have restrictive exhaust then they probably aren't worth it though.

if u get cutouts i would recommend DMH they have treated me well

I don't know to believe it or not. Not knocking your comment down by any means but I've just one statement. The Chokemaster is in affect baby. An by the way I love my GMMG. It just makes me want to

I have a 3" electric QTP cutout in my intermediate pipe to the stock catback. I love it. Quiet while driving and loud when I need it to be

Cutouts are always fun! If you already have true duals, where are you planning on putting the cutouts? Before the mufflers would have little effect but a foot back from the headers or so will wake the dead!

I have LT's, dual cutouts, ory and dumped dynomax bullet. It is ridiculous with them open. To the point where the whole car rattles, cant hear the radio, you have to yell for someone in the car to hear you, cant talk on the phone etc. I had to close them cause I was running very late for work (was supposed to be there at 10pm and I left the house at 1 am ) so I get on it pretty good leaving a stop sign right by work and had a cop follow me into the parking lot. He said my car was way too and and not street legal I told him it was cause the cutouts were open and he just told me to close them right when I got off. Badass cop
Idle clip with them open:

I have yet to dyno my car with the cutout open, so I can't say. However, old roomates 02 WS6 with just a lid and catback with the cutout on the i pipe right before the axle picked up 10rwhp.

Seen a buddies procharged/meth 402 stroker go from 760 rwhp to 811 rwhp by opening his dual cutouts(on the y pipe after the LT's) on his 02 Firehawk.

Went from 466rwhp to 476, closed to open. Heads/cam, ARH headers/4" y-pipe, 4" cutout, Magnaflow catback
