Default Critique my launch

I think the car has more in it, and if you listen carfully the car like picks up after it comes out. The 60ft time on this pass was a 1.47. I full suspension except rear shocks, running a 28inch MT drag radial, skinnie up front, and my mods are in my sig. This is leaving off of a 150shot out of the hole.

hard to tell from that far away and angle. it sounds almost as if the nitrous is hitting later?

do you have it on a WOT switch and window switch?

Yea its not the greatest video I know. Yea the nitrous is on a WOT and and window switch(FJO mini). It comes on at 3000 Rpm and off at 6400rpm. The stall is a 3600 stall so I don't think there should be a reason for it to do what it is doing.

I don't really remember but I am going to guess right around 2200-2400 rpms. That was the second run of the day, and I was launching it at whatever the tires would hold without rolling through the beams.

Set your window switch for 1k rpms. That will wake that bitch up.
Get your self a wolfe rear sway bar too. more gear wouldnt hurt either.

He has a rear sway bar it just needs to be welded in. And the reason he runs that gear is because we used to run 3:73's in it and it was running out of gear before the end of the 1/4.

its probably just taking that long to get to 3k to make the nitrous activate. set it to 2500 and see what happens

whats the front struts set on (assuming they are adjustable)? I didn't see much lift..even after the spray kicked in. But even on the initial hit just on motor alone it should have lifted more than it did.

Yea the fronts are double adjustable strange shocks. I was having issues with the driverside front not working properly(really stiff). It was sent to strange and gone through 2 months after I got the shocks. Besides that both of the front shocks are set to 0 compression and 0 rebound ( so most rebound and least compression). Maybe I have the dials the wrong way, but I have them turned all the way to minus side for both compression and rebound.

The car was aligned at a dealership, and I think they may have over tighten the lower A-arm and that maybe is the cause to why the driver side shock is much stiffer than the passenger side.

You are NOT launching hard enough. 3600 Stall??? I guess my question would be:

It looks like your built tranny should take the launch..
1) do you have a transbrake?
2) 2 step?

"In the day" when I was on nitrous, my stall was 5400, launch on 150 shot (some times 200) off the transbrake with the 2 step set at 5200. Got many 1.30 on 10.5 M/T - my engine was a completely stock bottom end.

Bottom line (IMO) is your RPM launch - 3600 is not going to cut it.

Okay so what do i need to do? I only have a stage 4 from FLT and they said that its on the limit right now of spraying 150 out of the hole. Yes the stall speed is 3600vig, I do not have a T-brake in the car, and I do not have a two step either. I thought the 2 step thing was more for the 6sp guys.

On a side note I really wish you (Navy David SS) would have made it to pinks allout in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Myself and a bunch of buddies were really looking foward to seeing your car! Its too bad you couldn't have made it, it was a really good time!

What are your datalogs telling you?
Look at what the engine is really doing, would be a way to sort things out.
Tps really at WFO, or is the driver's foot being pulled off WOT?? Lots of "stuff" to look at, B4 making a bunch of changes...
IMO, David is on w/ his suggestion on a converter.

REMEMBER! 1 change at a time, with notes, vids, etc, for reference.

Wish I would have the car finished also. Next year. Good things come to those who wait

Me personally, I would look at putting a transbrake and 2-step on you car. Re-flash the converter to 5000, and let it rip. Use the transbrake to activate the nitrous. Works great.

Did you have any problems blowing threw the converter on the nitrous?

and you shouldnt have ran out of gear with a 3.73 trapping 125... especially on a 28 inch tire. How much slip does your converter have?? you must have a TON of slip to be running out of gear at 125 mph on a 3.73 with a 28 tall rear tire...
